Madrid. The new Al-Adan Hospital in Kuwait, designed by EAG (Empresarios Agrupados – GHESA), has been awarded Best Hospital Development of the Year in the healthcare sector in Kuwait at the prestigious MEED Project Awards 2024. This recognition highlights the significance and impact of this ambitious project in advancing Kuwait’s healthcare infrastructure.
EAG was honored to be selected as design consultants by the contractor SHBC, under the supervision of SSH. Our role encompassed a wide range of services, including data collection, site surveys, planning, conceptual design, schematic design, detailed design, construction documentation, and quality control throughout both the design and construction phases.
The hospital expansion consists of seven buildings covering a total area of 488,000 square meters. The highlight of the development is the Women and Children’s Hospital, a 90-meter-tall structure with 632 beds. Additionally, the Surgical and General Services Building, spanning 30,000 square meters, houses over 40 operating theaters equipped with cutting-edge technology. A comprehensive Master Plan for urbanizing the surrounding area was also developed.
This award reflects EAG’s commitment to excellence in healthcare design and engineering, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to all the teams who contributed to making this success possible, including Álvaro Olabarría, Matías Gadea, Elena Martínez Quirós, Marta Barrera, and Jacint Peris.
