EAG (Empresarios Agrupados – GHESA) has signed a long-term strategic agreement with Westinghouse Electric Company to accelerate the global deployment of AP1000® technology, reinforcing its commitment to the expansion of nuclear energy as a safe, efficient, and low-carbon source.
This agreement enables EAG to provide specialized engineering services from Spain, leveraging its highly qualified team, while strengthening Westinghouse’s global nuclear supply chain. The collaboration also responds to the growing demand for engineering talent, which is essential for the development of clean and sustainable energy solutions worldwide.
Javier Perea, CEO of EAG, emphasizes that this alliance represents a strategic milestone, combining EAG’s expertise in nuclear engineering with Westinghouse’s technological leadership and vision. “This agreement opens new opportunities for joint growth and strengthens our contribution to the global energy transition,” he stated.
The AP1000® reactor—the only Generation III+ reactor currently in operation with fully passive safety systems, modular design, and the smallest footprint per MWe—sets the international benchmark for efficiency and safety. Meanwhile, the AP300™ SMR, based on AP1000® technology, offers a safe and efficient alternative for the development of small modular reactors, streamlining licensing processes and maximizing the use of available technical expertise.
This collaboration strengthens EAG’s role as an international leader in nuclear engineering, contributing to the deployment of next-generation solutions and to the achievement of global energy and climate goals, ensuring a sustainable energy future.
