Empresarios Agrupados has participated in recent years in more than 50 photovoltaic projects with a total capacity of more than 4 GW, as well as over 20 hybridisation projects including this technology with installed capacity of more than 1 GW. In these projects, we have provided our customers with a large multidisciplinary team of in-house experts offering engineering, consultancy and auditing services throughout the life cycle of the plants, from the initial development phases to construction and commissioning and operation, including all the electrical infrastructure for electricity transmission and incorporating hybrid solutions and energy storage systems.

In the development phase, we accompany our customers from the initial conceptual design stage until completion of the construction license application phase, carrying out all the site characterisation studies (topography, geotechnics, pull-out tests, hydrology and flooding), feasibility studies, grid access and connection studies, solar resource, production and bankable performance studies, construction licence applications and permitting processes, basic engineering, tender engineering for EPC bids and preliminary electrical studies for connecting the plant to the grid.

During construction, we support the procurement tendering processes, preparing technical specifications and specifications for the EPC, BOS, BOP and main equipment. This includes providing technical evaluation of bids and technical advice for contract negotiation, monitoring supplies and factory tests, and defining the detail engineering. This stage includes designing and calculating the pile driving and/or foundations of the fixed structures and solar trackers and carrying out the final electrical studies for grid connection. For the owners, we carry out Owner’s Engineering activities, construction supervision and comprehensive project management by means of EPCM services.

For the commissioning and operation of the photovoltaic plant, Empresarios Agrupados prepares all the as-built documentation, reviews all action protocols, supervises the commissioning tests, prepares the O&M manuals and provides technical support for project legalisation and grid connection.

This knowledge of the market, regulations, technology and business allows Empresarios Agrupados to furnish technical due diligence services in purchases and sales throughout the different phases of a project. In this regard, we carry out market and regulatory studies, review permits, authorisations and licences, the technical aspects of the contracts, the resource and expected and/or actual production, the overall design, the construction drawings and the O&M activities. This enables us to provide the technical input data for the financial model and to identify rigorously and independently all technical risks of the transaction and propose alternatives and actions to mitigate them.
